For Soprano and Guitar, poetry by Elizabeth Keller
This piece is about the complexities of death, and the simplicity of love.

Crecimiento for Bassoon and Piano
These pieces are based on surrealist poems by the Cuban poet, Fina García Marruz. To create this movement, each syllable of the poem "La Extraña Luz" was matched with a melody note. I wanted to illustrate how the existential questioning of the beginning explodes into lush and surrealist imagery, before returning to a fuller sense of self.

5 Bird Songs for
Solo Classical Guitar
This piece is very special to me, as it was the first major undertaking I began as a composer. Each piece is devoted to a different bird of the Virgin Islands, starting with the roosters we hear in the morning, then I present the boldness of the Kestrel, before being interrupted by the virtuosic odd-meter Thrashy Bird, which settles down into the Pelican of Magen's Bay, before closing again with the rooster at night.
